What does being “multi-site” church mean?

It means being one church in multiple locations. Freedom Vineyard will officially have two sites from September 2026: Dartford and New Ash Green. Some parts of church life will be managed centrally (e.g. worship, small groups, teaching, finance, pastoral care, legal and governance; childrens’ and youth ministries) whist other aspects will be devolved to the sites - delivering Sunday services well, local mission, compassion & outreach.

Sites allow for greater growth with less administrative overhead - meaning there’s more focus on reaching people and discipleship.

Who will be leading the sites?

In Dartford, Ben and Dani Wallace are the Site Pastors, and Sarah Creek is the Assistant Site Pastor.

For New Ash Green, Will Farmer is the Site Pastor, with Jo Ayton as Assistant Site Pastor.

What responsibilities do Site Pastors and Assistant Site Pastors have?

Site Pastors are the visible leaders for a site, responsible for leading the expression of our church at that location with vision, passion, care, sensitivity and with a servant-heart. They lead the site leadership team and ensure that Sunday morning meetings are well organised and reflect our values and Vineyard distinctives.

They create a culture of welcome within the site, with a focus on the inclusion of newcomers so as to see the site grow; and work with ministry leads (childrens’ pastor, youth pastor, small groups overseer etc.) to ensure these ministries are well represented and delivered at the site.

They also drive mission to the local community where the site is based, creating an over-riding strategy for mission into that community. It is anticipated that this would include linking with key community leaders, running local projects and events.

Assistant Site Pastors help the Site Pastor(s) discharge these responsibliities, working together to utilise areas of strength to maximise the team’s effectiveness.

Are Glen & Amanda leaving or retiring? What will they do?

No, they’re not retiring or stepping back! 😄 As Lead Pastors, they will oversee the central Leadership Team (Site Pastors, Childrens & Youth Pastors, Small Group Oversight, Pastoral Care & Worship). As they’re freed up from the day-to-day operational responsibilities, they can focus on more strategic matters like developing Compassion ministry, facilities, leadership development. They’re still 100% on board with the vision of Freedom Vineyard!!
